Match it to the ring size chart later in this guide. Don't do this: Don't wrap too tight. The paper should feel snug, like a comfortable ring, not a rubber band cutting off circulation. Don't measure first thing in the morning. Fingers are slightly puffy after sleep. Measure in the afternoon or evening for the most accurate reading. Don't measure when your hands are cold. Cold fingers shrink. Warm hands = true size. Why does temperature matter so much? Think of your finger like a tiny balloon. Heat expands it; cold contracts it. The difference between a cold-morning finger and a warm-afternoon finger can be half a ring size, enough to mean the difference between a ring that fits and one that doesn't.
