Eternity Fashion Rings for Women

An eternity fashion ring is built like any eternity band, with stones set all the way around or across the top, but it's chosen for style rather than for a wedding. It's the ring you wear on your right hand, stack with others, or buy for yourself. That's why this collection leans toward the designs that look different from a classic bridal band: heart-shaped stones, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, and black diamonds set against white.

If you're shopping for a wedding or anniversary band, our eternity wedding bands and half eternity rings are the better place to start.

What Makes It a Fashion Ring

A wedding eternity band is usually small round diamonds in a single row, sized to sit next to an engagement ring. A fashion eternity ring changes one or more of those things:

  • The shape of the stones. Hearts, pears and step-cut rectangles in place of rounds.
  • The color. Red, blue or green stones, or black diamonds, in place of white.
  • The pattern. Alternating colors, a half-and-half split, or a checkerboard.
  • Where it's worn. Right hand, index finger or middle finger, alone or in a stack.

Heart Eternity Rings

A row of heart-shaped stones turns the band into a pattern you notice up close. Hearts come in lab-grown diamond and in colored gemstones, and some designs alternate the two. Browse heart-shaped diamond rings and heart-shape diamond bands.

Gemstone Eternity Rings

Our gemstone eternity rings use three stones, each a birthstone:

  • Ruby (July). Lab-created, a strong red that looks brightest beside white diamonds. See lab-grown ruby rings.
  • Blue sapphire (September). Lab-created, the hardest of the three and the easiest to wear every day. See lab-grown blue sapphire rings.
  • Emerald (May). Lab-created, a cool green. It's softer than ruby and sapphire, so bezel-set designs are the safest choice for daily wear. See lab-grown emerald rings.

Patterns include all-gemstone bands, gemstones alternating with diamonds, and bands that are half gemstone, half diamond. For more on each stone, see our ruby, sapphire and emerald pages.

Black and White Eternity Rings

Natural black diamonds set beside white diamonds make a graphic, high-contrast band. Designs include alternating stones, two-tone rows and checkerboard patterns. Our black diamonds are natural and color-treated to give an even black. They have a glossy shine rather than sparkle, which is exactly what makes the white stones beside them stand out. See black diamond rings.

Shapes Beyond Round

Fashion eternity rings use more stone shapes than bridal bands. Pear and marquise stones point along the finger. Oval stones read softer. Emerald and asscher cuts show long flashes of light, and princess cuts sit edge to edge in a sharp line. The shape does more to change the look of the band than almost anything else, so it's worth deciding on first.

Full or Half Eternity?

Full eternity shows color and sparkle from every angle, which suits a fashion ring you'll turn on your hand. It can't easily be resized, so the size needs to be right from the start.

Half eternity keeps the stones on top and plain gold underneath. It's lighter, more comfortable for long wear, and simpler to resize.

Our guide to eternity and half eternity rings compares them in more detail.

How to Wear an Eternity Fashion Ring

  • Right ring finger. The classic spot for a ring that isn't part of a wedding set.
  • Index or middle finger. Better for heart or colored bands you want people to see.
  • In a stack. Put a colored or heart eternity ring between two plain bands so it doesn't compete with another sparkly one. Our stackable rings and the half eternity stacking guide have more combinations.

Lab-Grown or Natural Diamonds

The white diamonds in these rings come as lab-grown or natural, depending on the design. Lab-grown keeps the cost down on a band with many stones. Natural suits buyers who want mined diamonds. The product page names the diamond type for each ring, and our lab-grown diamond fashion rings and natural diamond fashion rings group them by type.

Gold

Gold options include 10K, 14K and 18K. Each product page lists the gold colors available for that design, and some designs are two-tone. Since eternity rings are worn on the hand that does the most, 14K is a good balance of color and durability.

Size, Care and Custom Orders

Measure the exact finger you'll wear the ring on with our size guide, especially for a full eternity ring, and check the returns and exchange policy before ordering. Clean the ring with warm water and mild soap, brushing gently between the stones. Our care guide has more detail.

If you want a pattern or stone combination we don't have, describe it on our custom design page or send us a message. We typically reply within 24 hours.
