Oval Diamond Wedding Bands for Women
Turn an oval band in your hand and you'll notice the pattern before anything else. Our oval wedding bands come in solid rows of red, blue or green, in gemstones that take turns with white diamonds, in black and white, and in pure white lab-grown diamond. Every stone is an oval, so the shape stays constant and the pattern is where you make the band your own.
Why Ovals Carry Color So Well
An oval has a broad, rounded face with no corners or points to thin out the shade. Light moves across it smoothly, so a ruby, sapphire or emerald shows an even wash of color from tip to tip rather than dark edges or pale corners. That's why so much of this collection is colored: the oval is a natural home for a gemstone. Set side by side around a band, a row of ovals also reads as a soft, continuous chain, with small gaps of gold between the rounded ends that give the ring a gentle rhythm.
Ovals also share the brilliant faceting of a round diamond, so a white oval band sparkles as freely as a round one while looking slightly longer and more fluid on the finger.
Five Ways to Pattern an Oval Band
One gemstone all the way around. A band set entirely with lab-created rubies, blue sapphires or emeralds is the boldest choice, a solid ring of color that reads clearly from across a room.
Gemstone and diamond, taking turns. Alternating bands set a colored oval, then a white lab-grown diamond, then color again. The white stones brighten the color beside them, and the band looks lighter and more playful than a solid row.
Half and half. A few of our bands set one half of the ring in white lab-grown diamonds and the other half in sapphire, ruby or emerald. You can wear the white side up for a classic look and turn the band to show the color whenever you like, so one ring gives you two moods.
Black and white. Natural black diamonds alternating with white lab-grown diamonds create a graphic, modern pattern, while a band of black diamonds alone looks sleek and quiet.
All white. Our lab-grown diamond bands keep every oval colorless, for a classic wedding band with a softer outline than a round row. One design mixes ovals with pear shapes for a band with a gentle, varied rhythm.
Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald
Every colored gemstone in these bands is lab-created. Lab-created rubies, sapphires and emeralds share the chemistry and hardness of mined stones and show strong, even color, and each listing discloses the stone as lab-created.
Ruby gives the warmest look and is a traditional symbol of love, which makes a ruby band a natural choice for a wedding or a fortieth anniversary. Blue sapphire is the "something blue" many brides want, and its deep shade looks crisp beside white gold. Emerald brings a fresh green that pairs especially well with yellow gold. Sapphire and ruby are hard enough for daily wear; emerald is a little softer, so a bezel setting helps protect it. Browse each color in our lab-grown ruby wedding bands, lab-grown blue sapphire wedding rings and emerald wedding bands.
Black Diamond Ovals
Our black diamond bands use natural black diamonds in slim widths of around 3 to 3.9 millimeters, as full eternity, half eternity and alternating designs. An oval black diamond has a glossy, mirror-like surface rather than sparkle, so the band looks polished and understated. Paired with white diamonds, it becomes a crisp black-and-white pattern that suits both yellow and white gold. More dark designs are in our black diamond rings.
Widths, From 3 to 5.1 Millimeters
The bands range from slim 3 millimeter rows of small black diamonds to 4 and 5 millimeter gemstone and diamond bands, up to our bezel-set 5.1 millimeter series. A narrow band lets your engagement ring lead and stacks easily; a wider one shows each oval clearly and holds its own when worn alone.
The setting changes the look as well. Prongs hold each oval at its edges, letting in more light and showing more of the stone. In the 5.1 millimeter bezel-set bands, each oval sits inside its own smooth rim of gold, which protects the edges and gives the band a rounded, sculpted outline that's comfortable for active hands.
Pairing With an Oval Engagement Ring
An oval band beside an oval engagement ring repeats the center stone's shape in miniature, so the set looks planned as a pair. A colored band adds a twist to a white center; a white band keeps the look classic. If your engagement ring sits low, our curved oval lab-grown band follows the outline of the center stone so the two rings meet without a gap. Our guide to curved vs. straight wedding bands explains when each works, and more shapes are in our curved wedding bands.
Because full eternity bands carry stones all the way around, they can't be resized after they're made, so we build each one to your exact size. Half eternity bands have plain metal at the back.
Metals, Diamonds and Certificates
Bands are offered in 925 sterling silver and in 10K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, though not every design is available in silver. Our lab-grown diamonds are grown by the CVD method, and any band over $800 includes a GSI jewelry certificate. US orders ship free, and international shipping is available.
Oval Bands Made to Order
If the band you're picturing isn't listed, we can make it. That includes east-west bands, with each oval turned sideways across the finger for a modern, ladder-like look; bands set with natural white diamonds; curved oval bands shaped to fit your engagement ring; and a different gemstone, width or pattern.
