Marquise Diamond Earrings for Women
A marquise diamond is long and narrow with a point at each end, like a closed eye or a small boat. In our earrings it does more than sit on its own: marquises form the spikes of a crown, the petals of a flower, the line of an ear climber and the swing of a drop. Every design comes in natural or lab-grown diamonds, in gold or 925 sterling silver.
A Shape Made for Design
Two things make the marquise different from other diamond shapes. It's the longest outline for its weight, so even small marquises cover a lot of space and read as bigger than they are. And its two points give it direction: pointed up, it rises; angled out, it fans; pointed down, it falls. That's why designers reach for marquises when they want a shape with movement, and why our marquise earrings are built around shapes rather than single stones.
The points are also the delicate part. Each tip of a marquise is thin and can chip if it takes a hard knock, so in our designs the tips are held under small V-shaped prongs or tucked against neighboring stones.
Crowns
Crown earrings line up small marquises side by side, points upward, along a curved base of round diamonds, so the top edge looks like the points of a tiara. They come as 0.20 carat crown earrings in natural or lab-grown diamonds, and as lab-grown crown studs. Worn in a second piercing, a crown stud tilts slightly forward and catches light from the front.
Flowers
Marquises make the most natural petals of any diamond shape because they're already long and pointed. Our marquise flower studs arrange them around a center stone in a starburst, at 0.96 carat for the pair, in natural or lab-grown. All our flower designs are gathered in our floral cluster earrings.
Ear Climbers and Cluster Bars
An ear climber runs a line of diamonds up the edge of the lobe from a single piercing, so it looks like several earrings at once. Ours sets marquises along the line, at 0.30 carat in lab-grown diamonds. For more pieces that suit the upper ear, see our cartilage earrings.
Cluster bars pair one marquise with a short row of round diamonds, for a modern, asymmetric stud. They come in natural and lab-grown, and the rest of our cluster designs are in our diamond cluster earrings.
Marquises That Hang
Pointed down, a marquise turns into a slim drop of light. Our marquise drop hoop hangs one from a small hoop, and our marquise dangle earrings let it swing below the lobe. Both are lab-grown. More hanging styles are in our solitaire drop hoops and dangling earrings.
Coming Soon: Solitaire and Colored Marquises
Two additions are on the way: single-marquise solitaire studs, and marquise earrings in lab-grown fancy pink, yellow, blue and green. Until they arrive, you'll find single-stone studs in other shapes in our diamond solitaire earrings, and the marquise shape in rings in our marquise cut diamond rings.
Natural or Lab-Grown
Most of our marquise designs come in both natural and lab-grown diamonds, while the climber, crown studs, drop hoop and dangle are lab-grown. The marquises in these designs are small, so they aren't individually graded, but any pair priced above $800 comes with a GSI jewelry certificate covering the finished earrings.
Every design is made in 10K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, and in 925 sterling silver. Yellow and rose gold give crowns and flowers a vintage warmth, while white gold and silver make the points look sharper.
