Pear Shape Diamond Wedding Bands for Women
A pear is the only band stone with a single point, and the way that point faces decides how the whole ring looks. Our pear wedding bands set the stones upright in a row, sideways from tip to tail, curved around an engagement ring or at the two ends of an open band. Choose the direction first, then the color, from white lab-grown diamonds to black diamonds and lab-created rubies, sapphires and emeralds.
One Point, Many Directions
A teardrop has a rounded end and a tapered tip, so it never looks the same from two sides. Turn it and the ring changes character: upright pears feel graceful and vertical, sideways pears create movement around the finger, and pears gathered toward a center stone frame it like petals. That flexibility is what sets a pear band apart from a round or oval row, where every stone looks alike whichever way it sits.
Upright, Points Toward the Fingertip
In our full and half eternity bands, each pear stands upright with its point toward the fingertip and its rounded end toward the hand. Set side by side, the stones form a row of small teardrops, like a fringe of light along the band. The rounded ends line up along one edge and the tips along the other, giving the ring a scalloped outline that's softer than a straight channel of diamonds.
Half eternity versions keep the pears across the top of the finger with plain gold at the back, while full eternity versions continue the row all the way around. A full eternity band can't be resized once it's made, so we craft each one to your exact measurement.
Sideways, Tip to Tail
Our east-west pear band turns every stone on its side, so each tip points toward the rounded end of the next. The pears follow one another around the finger in a continuous chain, which gives the ring a sense of motion, almost like a wave or a vine. Because each stone shows its full length across the band, the sideways style looks longer and more open than an upright row with the same number of stones. It's a modern choice that works well on its own or stacked between two plain bands.
Curved Around a Center Stone
If your engagement ring has a low center stone, a straight band can leave an awkward gap. Our curved pear lab-grown band dips in the middle and arranges its pears to follow the outline of the stone above it, so the two rings sit flush and read as a single design. It suits round, oval and pear engagement rings in particular. Our curved wedding bands show more contoured shapes, and the curved band styling guide explains how each one nests. For a sharper V outline, read our guide to chevron and V-shaped bands.
Open at Both Ends
The pear open ring leaves a small gap at the top of the band, with a pear diamond at each end facing the other across the opening. It's offered in natural and lab-grown diamonds, and it can be worn as a wedding band or a standalone ring. Two stones facing each other also echo the idea behind a toi et moi ring, the "you and me" design explored in our toi et moi guide. Our open ring wedding bands guide covers how to stack an open band.
Pears in Color and in Black
Many of our pear bands trade white diamonds for color. Lab-created rubies, blue sapphires and emeralds appear on their own, alternating with white lab-grown diamonds or split so half the ring is white and half colored. A teardrop's tapered end gathers a slightly deeper tone at the point, so a colored pear band shows subtle shading from end to end. Every colored gemstone in this collection is lab-created and disclosed as such on its listing. Browse them in our emerald wedding bands, lab-grown ruby wedding bands and lab-grown blue sapphire wedding rings.
Our black diamond pear bands use natural black diamonds, either alone for a dark, glossy row or mixed with white diamonds for contrast. More are in our black diamond rings. Two further designs combine pear and oval lab-grown diamonds in one band.
Protecting the Tip
The point of a pear is its thinnest part and the one most exposed to knocks. In a band, where stones sit close to the surface and meet doors, desks and bag straps every day, that tip needs a dedicated prong or a rim of metal around it. Prong-set pears show more of the stone; bezel-set tips trade a little sparkle for extra security. Either way, take the band off for heavy lifting, gardening or the gym, and have the settings checked once a year so a loose prong is caught early.
Metals, Diamonds and Certificates
Every band is available in 10K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold, and many are also offered in 925 sterling silver. White diamonds in our listed pear bands are lab-grown by the CVD method, and natural white diamond pear bands can be made on request. Pear bands priced above $800 come with a GSI jewelry certificate, and every US order ships free, with delivery available worldwide.
