Lab-Grown Diamond Earrings for Women
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, made above ground instead of mined. Because they cost much less than natural stones of the same size, they open up sizes and colors that would otherwise be out of reach: studs up to 3 carats per ear, and earrings in fancy pink, yellow, blue and green. This collection holds every lab-grown earring we make, from tiny studs to statement hoops.
How Our Lab-Grown Diamonds Are Made
Our lab-grown diamonds are grown by CVD (chemical vapor deposition). A thin slice of diamond is placed in a sealed chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. The gas is heated until it breaks apart, and carbon atoms settle onto the slice layer by layer, building a new diamond crystal over several weeks. The result has the same chemical makeup, hardness and sparkle as a natural diamond. A jeweler can't tell the two apart by eye; it takes lab equipment.
Every product name and page in our store says "lab-grown", as US rules require, so you always know what you're buying.
More Diamond for Your Budget
A lab-grown diamond typically costs a fraction of a natural diamond of the same size and quality. That's the main reason people choose it: the same budget buys a noticeably bigger or better stone. Our lab-grown studs go up to 3 carats per ear, so our largest pairs are 6 carats total, a size that would be rare and very expensive in natural diamonds.
Lab-grown diamonds are a choice for wearing rather than for resale value, which is much lower than for natural stones. If origin and rarity matter more to you than size, see our natural diamond earrings.
Fancy Colors
About a third of our lab-grown earrings are fancy colors: pink, yellow, blue and green, in round, oval, pear, emerald, radiant and other shapes. Natural fancy color diamonds are among the rarest gems in the world; in lab-grown, the same colors are within reach in larger sizes. See every shade in our colored diamond earrings, or go straight to pink, yellow, blue or green diamond earrings.
Studs, Hoops, Huggies and Dangles
The collection covers every earring style we make, and each has its own lab-grown collection:
- Studs. Prong, bezel and halo studs in round, oval, pear, princess, emerald, radiant and cushion shapes, plus shaped designs such as flowers, fans, crowns and evil eyes. See our lab-grown diamond studs.
- Hoops and huggies. Baguette, double-row, milgrain and spike hoops, dangling hoops and huggie dangles. Browse our lab-grown hoops and huggies.
- Dangles and drops. Station drops, flower dangles, marquise dangles and solitaire drops are in our lab-grown dangle earrings.
- Clusters and climbers. Cluster bars, round clusters and ear climbers for a second piercing.
How Lab-Grown Stones Are Documented
Any lab-grown diamond of 1 carat or more comes with an IGI grading report, which identifies the stone as laboratory-grown and records its color, clarity and cut. In earrings, that covers every pair of 2 carats total and up, with one report per stone. Smaller stones, such as those in hoops and clusters, aren't individually graded, but any pair priced above $800 also includes a GSI jewelry certificate for the finished earrings.
