Oval Diamond Bracelets for Women
An oval is a round brilliant stretched into a longer outline, and on a bracelet that stretch has a direction. Set lengthwise, an oval runs along the wrist and draws the eye toward the hand. A Stretched Round on the Wrist
An oval keeps the brilliant faceting of a round, so it sparkles in the same lively, scattered way, but its outline is longer and narrower. That shape spreads the stone's weight across more surface, so an oval looks larger face-up than a round of the same carat weight. On a bracelet, where stones are small and seen from a little distance, that extra spread helps a modest diamond read clearly.
Rings get fussy about oval proportions and the dark "bow-tie" shadow some ovals show across the middle. On a bracelet both matter less. The stones are smaller and constantly moving, so a slight bow-tie is rarely noticed, and a range of proportions looks graceful once it's on the wrist.
Running Along the Wrist
Most of our oval bracelets set the stone lengthwise, with its long axis following the chain. This is the most flattering direction for the arm: the eye travels along the oval toward the hand, which makes the wrist look slimmer and the fingers longer. It also suits stacking, since a lengthwise oval lines up neatly beside a tennis line or a fine chain without breaking their direction. For a first diamond bracelet, a single lengthwise oval is one of the easiest pieces to wear with everything from a sweater to an evening dress.
Our white oval solitaires come in lab-grown diamonds, in a bezel or in prongs. The bezel wraps the stone in a smooth rim of gold, which outlines the oval shape and keeps it from catching on knits; the prong setting holds it at four points so more light passes through. Across the Wrist
The east-west bracelet turns its ovals sideways in bezels, so each stone sits across the wrist rather than along it. The look is more modern and graphic, closer to a row of small lozenges than a line of sparkle, and it pairs especially well with a watch, whose face also sits across the wrist. A Line of Ovals
Two of our tennis bracelets use ovals in every link. Oval Bracelets for Brides
The oval has become one of the most chosen engagement ring shapes, and an oval bracelet is the most direct way to carry that shape from the ring to the wrist. A bride with an oval solitaire ring can echo it with an oval tennis line, so the same outline repeats in every link. If her ring already has a halo or pavé band, a single oval solitaire on a fine chain keeps the wrist simple and lets the ring lead.
