Emerald Cut Diamond Earrings for Women

Flash Instead of Sparkle
Most diamond earrings are brilliant cuts, covered in small facets that scatter light into points. An emerald cut has fewer, larger facets arranged in parallel steps, which creates a "hall of mirrors" effect: as you turn your head, wide panels of light open and close across the stone. On the ear it reads as cool and polished rather than flashy, which is why emerald cut studs suit both a suit and an evening dress.
What to Look For

Proportions. Most emerald cuts are about 1.3 to 1.5 times as long as they are wide. The cropped corners aren't just decoration; they remove the sharp points that would chip easily on a plain rectangle.
Upright or Sideways

Prong. Small claws at each cropped corner leave the sides open, so more light reaches the facets and the stone looks slightly larger. Most of our emerald cut earrings are lab-grown, including all the fancy colors. Lab-grown stones go up to 3 carats per ear, and any lab-grown diamond of 1 carat or more includes an IGI report. Natural emerald cuts go up to 1 carat per ear, and any natural diamond of 0.50 carat or more includes an IGI or GIA report.
