Pear-Shaped Diamond Wedding Rings: Drop The Tear On Finger

A pear-shaped wedding ring band has a long, elegant shape that wraps around your finger. The rounded part of each stone reflects light from one side, while the pointed end catches it from another. This collection features full eternity bands, with choices of gemstones and diamonds in three different widths and several metal finishes. Each ring shown here is made of solid gold or platinum, and every stone is carefully checked before being set in the ring.

Is a Pear-Shaped Ring Right for You?

The pear cut is unique. Some people will love its features, while others may find them impractical. Knowing where you stand on this can help you avoid returning the ring later.  A pear-shaped ring could be for you.

  • If you want a diamond that looks bigger than its price.
  • If you want a ring that stands out in photos with a recognizable shape, it is easy to spot from a distance.
  • If you prefer a ring that has a clear direction on your finger, showing that you made a thoughtful choice rather than just going with a common option.
  • If you like wearing something a little unexpected more than you find it strange.

However, you might want to consider other options if you prefer a ring that looks the same from every angle, something centered and symmetrical with no clear top or bottom. In that case, check out our [round diamond wedding ring collection] or [oval diamond wedding ring collection] on Diagaa.

If you want a ring with amazing sparkle and softer curves, a [cushion cut ring] is a good choice. Rounded corners and deep facets create a warm look that photographs beautifully. If you’re interested in something modern, take a look at our [emerald cut collection].

What's on This Page

The products in this collection have a similar design. A pear diamond ring features an eternity band, which means it has stones all around the band held in place by prongs. The main choice for diamonds is lab-grown pear diamond rings with high clarity (VS1+) and color grade E-F. These rings come in three different band widths: 3.60mm, 4.60mm, and 5.60mm.

As the size of the stones increases, the number of stones decreases. The 3.60mm band holds 32 smaller pear diamonds, totaling 4.16 carats for a size 6.5 ring, while the 5.60mm band has 18 larger stones, totaling 6.30 carats. This relationship between the number of stones and their weight is important: wider bands use bigger individual stones, which costs more for each stone, but they can appear cleaner because there are fewer connections between the diamonds.

For pear diamond rings that have a mix of diamond types, the black-and-white pear bands combine natural black diamonds with white lab-grown diamonds, all set in prongs. The quality of the black diamonds is AAA-AA across all three widths, 1.92 carats total for the 3.60mm band and 5.40 carats for the 5.60mm band. The alternating pattern creates contrast, making every second diamond appear opaque next to the shiny ones, resulting in a more striking look than bands made of just one type of diamond.

Emerald & Ruby Eternity Bands

The colored gemstones in this collection are made in a lab. The pear-shaped emerald rings come in two widths: 4mm and 5mm, with weights of 3.40 and 5.40 carats, respectively. These feature high-quality lab-created emeralds set in prongs. There’s also an option that combines emerald and diamond: the 4mm band has half lab-grown diamonds (of excellent clarity) and half lab-created emeralds, each weighing 1.70 carats. The 5mm version uses a bezel setting instead of prongs, which is the only bezel-set ring on this page.

For the pear-shaped ruby rings, they follow the same full-eternity style: 4mm width has a total weight of 3.40 carats, and the 5mm width has 5.40 carats, both using lab-created ruby stones in prong settings. These ruby rings are solid gemstone bands, without any diamonds. Currently, there are no ruby-and-diamond options available; however, the emerald-and-diamond bands can show how a mixed-material pear band might look and feel.

The collection does not include pear-shaped blue sapphire rings. You can find those in the colored diamond rings section, where the pear shape is available with the same metal and finish options as shown here.

Pear Diamond Open Rings

The pear diamond open rings on this page have a split-band design. One side features a 0.15-carat pear-shaped diamond held by three prongs, while the other side has nine small round diamonds set closely together. There is a small gap between the two sides. The band is thin, measuring 1.50mm in width and thickness.

There are two options for the main stone: one has a 0.22-carat lab-grown diamond (with a clarity grade of VS1+ and a color grade of E-F), and the other has a 0.28-carat natural diamond (with I1 clarity and H-I color). Both versions are available in 10K, 14K, and 18K solid gold, in yellow, white, and rose tones. The lab-grown diamond version also offers sterling silver and platinum as choices.

The gap in the band isn't just for looks; it allows the ring to adjust slightly with changes in your finger temperature throughout the day. This also means the ring is designed to be worn with a specific top side, as turning it can change how the design appears.

Metal & Finish Choices

You can choose from 10K, 14K, and 18K solid gold in yellow, white, and rose colors, as well as platinum for some items. Rings with pear-shaped diamonds in 14K gold strike a good balance: they're durable (compared to 10K, which is harder but lighter in color) and have a warm, rich color (like 18K, which shows wear more quickly).

Platinum rings with pear-shaped diamonds are available with lab-grown diamonds; platinum is about 30% heavier than a gold ring of the same size and develops a soft finish over time instead of getting thinner. The eternity bands are available only in solid gold, choose from 10K, 14K, or 18K, and white gold has rhodium plating for added shine.

Eternity Band Resizing - Important Information Before You Buy

Every pear eternity band on this page has stones all the way around. This means they cannot be resized after you buy them. Make sure to measure your finger size carefully before placing your order. If you think your finger size might change with the seasons or due to weight changes, keep in mind: a full eternity band that doesn't fit cannot be adjusted by a jeweler, unlike a half eternity or a plain band.

Half eternity bands have gemstones only on the visible half, while the bottom half is plain metal and can be adjusted in size. Check out the half eternity section for pear-shaped options that can be resized.

Pricing & Certification

The affordable pear diamond rings you see here are priced based on their costs. Lab-grown diamonds are cheaper per carat than natural ones. Rings with thinner bands use fewer stones, and the open-ring design with a total weight of 0.22 carats is less expensive than full eternity bands.

Any ring priced over $500 comes with a third-party jewelry certificate that proves the authenticity of the diamond, gemstone, and gold. The open ring made with natural diamonds is below this price when made with base metal, while the lab-grown version exceeds it when made with platinum.

Build a Matching Pear Diamond Set

Our pear diamond jewelry goes beyond just wedding rings. Wearing the same pear-shaped cut in different pieces creates a stylish and coordinated look. For example, you can wear a pear diamond engagement ring on one hand and a wedding band on the other. Add pear diamond earrings to frame your face, a pear-cut diamond necklace at your collarbone, and pear-cut diamond bracelets on your wrist.

This way, your overall look will seem well-planned instead of thrown together. Start with the band from this page, then choose pieces from the earrings, necklace, and bracelet sections.

Find Your Pear Diamond Wedding Band

Browse the bands on this page; each one ships in solid gold or platinum with graded stones and certification on orders above $500. If the width, stone combination, or metal mix you're looking for isn't represented here, our custom design service starts from your dimensions and specs. You specify the parameters; we build to them.

FAQs

Yes, most pear eternity bands shown here are designed to fit closely with an engagement ring. The open rings, which are 1.50mm wide, are narrow enough to sit next to a solitaire engagement ring without crowding it. If your engagement ring has a very low setting, the 3.60mm eternity band is the thinnest option and is the least likely to interfere.

For a size-6.5 finger, the 3.60mm band covers about one-third of the visible part of your finger; the 5.60mm band covers nearly half. The 3.60mm features 32 smaller pear stones, creating a finer, more continuous look. The 5.60mm has 18 larger stones, giving each pear a more noticeable presence. Neither option is better than the other; it depends on whether you like a denser look or a more defined one.

Full-eternity bands have stones all the way around, which means there’s no bare metal for jewelers to cut, solder, or stretch. Resizing requires adding or removing metal at the base of the band, but if that area has diamonds, it can damage them during the process. Half-eternity bands avoid this problem by leaving the bottom half plain. If you think you may need to resize later, consider starting with a half-eternity pear band instead.

The emerald and ruby bands here are made with lab-created gemstones, not mined ones. Lab-created emeralds and rubies have the same chemical makeup and crystal structure as natural gems; they look identical, are graded AAA-AA for clarity and color, and are much cheaper per carat because they are easier to produce. If you specifically want natural gemstones, check out our natural gemstone ring section for details on where they come from and how they’re treated.
